Netflix's second installment of the Billie Bobby Brown-led Enola Holmes is just as good as the first. Enola, who is as independent as ever, wants to get from behind the shadows of her older brother Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) and open her own detective agency. Despite her age and the fact, for the times, she’s a woman who is not looked upon as a businessperson or detective. When she felt that no one would hire her, a young girl came to Enola to hire her to find her missing sister Sarah Chapman (Hannah Dodd). During Enola’s investigation, she comes across Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), who is clearly fond of Enola, and she of him, but she is distracted by her case, and she doesn’t quite catch on right away.

Enola’s investigation takes her to a factory where there have been deaths of young girls, which hasn’t been reported to the authorities and Enola thinks that Sarah was investigating those deaths when she disappeared. Working undercover in the factory, she meets Mae (Abbie Hearn) and finds out there is more to her than meets the eye. As her investigation goes on, she finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation, she sees Inspector Lestrade (Adeel Akhtar) who’s a fan of Sherlock Holmes and Superintendent Grail (David Thewlis) wants to arrest Enola but gets away. Instead of keeping a low profile, Enola decides to go to a society event to get more information. She is there to speak to William Lyon (Gabriel Tierney) who Enola thinks has ties to Sarah’s disappearance. There she also meets the Elder Lyon (David Westhead) and Secretary Mira Troy (Sharon Duncan-Brewster). She tells her how fun it is to watch the society people and teaches Enola how to read the fan signals.
Enola gets arrested and Sherlock is unable to get her out. Their mom Eudoria Holmes (Helena Bonham Carter) breaks her out along with Edith (Susie Wokoma) so she can continue her investigation. Enola soon learns that her investigation and the case that Sherlock is working on is also part of her own investigation. The two great minds figure out the case of the missing Sarah Chapman and see that Moriarty is involved.
Enola Holmes 2 gives us mystery, intrigue, and love. Enola loves her mother, brothers, and Tewksbury. The mystery and the intrigue of the case. This second installment was just as good as the first and I’m looking forward to the third installment. Billie Bobby Brown’s chemistry not only with her co-star but with us the audience is what makes these movies work. We root for her and try to help her solve the case. Henry Cavill, although brief in appearance, each time he is on the screen his connection with Billie Bobby Brown gives us the belief that they are truly siblings. The Sherlock that we commonly see is usually cold, butthe Enola Holmes franchise gives him more depth and emotion. Enola Holmes 2 is a strong follow-up to the first.
