F9 continues its 20-year saga with Dom and the family. This time around we find that Dom played by Vin Diesel has a brother Jakob played by John Cena, and this brings back their sister Mia played by Jordana Brewster back into the action. Of course, we have Letty played by Michelle Rodriguez who misses the action that the family always gets into. We have the comic relief of Roman played by Tyrese and Tej played by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. We also have Ramsey played by Nathalie Emmanuel who handles tech for the family. The big bad of this movie is Otto played by Thue Ersted Rasmussen, Cipher played Charlize Theron and of course Jakob who we find out about once a plane carrying Mr. Nobody played by Kurt Russell crashes and sends a message to the team. We also learned how Han played by Sung Kang survived his explosion in Tokyo Drift.

Now with all the Fast and Furious movies the stunts are ridiculous, and this is no different. The entry of the magnets seems to help Dom and the team get through some crazy driving stunts that leave you saying “WHAT?” and “How they Do that?” Also, when Roman and Tej must do the impossible with the help of Sean played by Lucas Black, Twinkie played by Shad “Bow Wow” Moss and Earl played by Jason Tobin, you just shake your head and laugh at the prospect of these two in space. Roman delivers a soliloquy that states everything that we the audience have asked about or asked while watching this film saga. I mean with all the stunts and situations that they have been through in all of these movies; Dom and the gang barely have a scratch on them where they should’ve been seriously hurt or dead.

As with all these Fast films, family is the central theme and family plays a big role in this one as well. I will say even with all the outrageous stunts and the funny commentary from Roman and Tej, this is a fun movie. There is an end credit scene that makes you want to see more. There are cameos throughout the film that may seem minor at the time but seeing the end credit scene makes Han’s reappearance even more relevant. F9 is a fun action filled movie with some heart.
