Season 2 of Loki leaves you saying WOW! This season ties in with the events of Season 1 and displays the growth of the Loki character not just in this show, but in the MCU timeline. This season focuses on the TVA (Time Variance Authority) amid a time disaster where multiple timeline branches are developing. Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), and Mobius (Owen Wilson) are on a mission to correct and repair the time branches. We learn how the TVA was formed, and we meet Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors), who is a Kang variant from the original timeline, and how he began developing aspects of the time loom, this is what keeps the timelines in place. Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) went back in time to Chicago in 1893 with the help of Miss Minutes (Tara Strong) to make sure that a young Victor Timely gets the TVA book to start the process of developing the TVA and run it the way she wants too.

At Chicago’s World’s Fair in 1893, Mobius and Loki, who also went back in time to follow Ravonna, see Victor Timely, as he displays his temporal loom prototype. After Victor’s presentation, we find that Victor is like a crooked salesperson, selling snake oil but only to realize these are prototypes of what’s to come. Loki and Mobius try to talk to Victor before Ravonna and they all run out and head to the Ferris wheel. Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) attacked Victor because Sylvie’s goal was to kill all the Kang variants. In the end, Loki stops her, and they all get away.

The crew eventually travels back to the TVA, where they visit OB Or Ouroboros (Ke HuyQuan) who is the writer of the TVA handbook, tries to assist Loki and we see that Loki with his time slipping, can go in the past to help OB with trying to solve his time slipping. The gang has a lot going on, Loki trying to control his time slipping; OB, Victor Timely, Sylvie, B-15, and Mobius all trying to keep the time loom from exploding; and resetting Miss Minutes because she became power-hungry and scary. Ravonna was being pruned because she was becoming power-hungry herself and was going to ruin the TVA.

Loki Season 2 was a beautiful story of Loki; it was a season of friendship, love, and self-sacrifice. We see his journey from season 1 where he just wants to rule and be the God of Mischief, but he realizes after he encounters “He Who Remains”, that he has a higher purpose. In this season, we see his journey to reach his “Glorious Purpose”.
